Welcome to Lucy Somerset
A modern, sustainable gardening studio rooted in Somerset
I help people create gardens that feel alive — spaces shaped by nature, guided by experience, and designed to be lived with over time.
From planting plans and wild garden consultancy to seasonal courses at The CowShed, my work centres on sustainability, beauty and the quiet joy of growing well.

The Joy of Growing Well
Hello, I’m Lucy.
I’m a gardener, grower, and horticultural consultant based in Somerset, working with people who want their gardens to feel natural, resilient, and deeply connected to their place.
My approach is thoughtful rather than prescriptive. I believe good gardens evolve slowly, respond to their surroundings, and support both people and wildlife. Whether I’m designing a planting plan, advising on a wild garden, or teaching a course, my work is always rooted in practicality, ecology and a love of the land.

Ways to Work With Me
Planting Plans
Considered, naturalistic planting designs tailored to your garden, your soil and your way of living.
Thoughtfully structured, easy to follow, and designed to mature beautifully over time.
Wild Garden Consultancy
For those who want to work with nature rather than against it.
From gentle rewilding to wildlife-friendly planting and long-term garden vision, I offer calm, practical guidance grounded in ecology and experience.
Courses at The CowShed
Seasonal, hands-on courses held at The CowShed at Castle Farm — a place to slow down, learn, and reconnect with the rhythms of growing.
From vegetable gardening to soil health and sustainable practice, these courses are welcoming, practical and rooted in real-life gardening.
